My MIL took a quilting class years ago and started a dresdan quilt for her bed. They moved last year and some of their things are in our basement. I was moving things around today and found the box with her quilting stuff in it. She has 16 blocks completed and has pieced another 12 of the plates, just not attached them to the backing yet.
I'm trying to figure out how to finish this for her as a surprise for her B-Day in mid Feb. Not sure I can pull it off, but would like to try. Can you show me your pictures of ones you've completed so I can see what the options are?
TIA

This is one of the 16 completed blocks. She has the backing and some strips but I'm not sure how much of them yet. Haven't gotten that far. I'm trying to figure out the different patterns for completing it, but with all the snow we have I can't get to the quilt store to look through books/patterns!

Gosh, I love Dresdan Plate! If these were mine, I would add sashing that's subtle so as to not detract from the Dresdan. I love blue, so having said that, I know I would have a hard time choosing fabric. But, as I'm typing this, I'm picturing darker shades of sashing. See, I get all these ideas swimming around in my head so I hope I haven't confused you!
