Really nice!! I like the blues and look how many years you have it. Wow! The raised outline on each block looks hard to do. Very challenging.

Sharon, cathredral windows, awesome. Pretty in the blue and white. When I get my pic to post, my first was a calico, blue and white, but very simple design. Wasn't even into quilting then, just did it on a whim, and kids loved it.

Charla, such a nice picture, your avatar, and love your first quilt. This really is a great thread! I love each and every one. I wasn't there, but each stirs such a nostalgic feeling in me.
Our babies, (quilts, and projects), are what help us grown. Love your quilts, even if you don't think they are all that pretty or perfect. Remember the ugly duckling story? ...you are just evolving into a
swan-quilter!...lol, I'll probably be 70 before I get to swan stage :D

My hat is off to you too, Sharon M. I tried to do a Cathedral Window Christmas ornament a couple years ago and it was such a mess I put it aside and made a mental note NEVER to revisit this pattern. I may decided to try again but it won't be anytime too soon. Good job you did.

Irish Heart

My first quilt I chose to do (for my 18 mon old grand-niece—she’s now 2 yrs. 2 mon) was the most difficult one for a 1st time piecer—a block made of 9 CURVED pieces (what was I thinking?) & I didn’t even have sew machine with a walking foot (dual feed). Did I have a time putting that quilt top together. Had to re-do about half of the blocks & still couldn’t get all the seams to match. But I learned fast. I bought a new Pfaff Quilt Expression with dual feed & some fancy stitches. I think I could sew the whole day long :!:

That is just beautiful Irish Heart - a first quilt? I'm not sure I'd attempt that now, after several years quilting! Hats off to you! :D

Mine is so simple I almost didn't want to post it. It is a quilt I made for my DGD. She wanted pink and purple. I had to wait til she was in school to take the picture because she won't let anyone take it off her bed. She really loves it.
