Show me your first quilt
#102
Okay, I knew nothing about quilting rules when I made this quilt, just wanted to make something for a special co-worker who was having her fourth child. I used a mixture of fabrics - not all 100% cotton and also designed and digitized - for the first time - embroidery designs to include the new baby's name. I learned a LOT about digitizing - mostly what will not work, LOL. Anyway, six years later and I have been assured the quilt is still in good condition which amazes me. I have sewn since I was 7 years old and used all the garment techniques including 5/8" seams, pressing them open, etc. Glad there really aren't any quilt police or I'd just be up for parole about now!

Just figured out how to post pictures with the reply. Okay, I'm a slow learner! This is my first quilt. Made when I was 12 in 1967. Friend's mother showed us how to make the sunbonnet Sue blocks, then my dad helped me put it all together & tie it. Recently took it all apart as the cotton batting had bunched up something terrible. Now the plan is to machine quilt it
