I am finding that with the economy the way it is, I have to make do with the fabrics on hand as much as possible. I am trying very hard to be creative with my quilt backs and save my money for batting and such. I thought it might be fun and helpful to others to share some of our pieced backs and it would be nice to get them all in one place. Here are several of mine.

Please share pictures of your pieced backings!

    Good work!

I've gone in a different direction -- I bought many yards of wide bleached muslin with a coupon at JoAnn's. I don't use quilt fabric for the backs much anymore. I just keep taking pieces off of this large amount. We'll see what I do when it runs out!

That's what I just recently started doing with the fronts. I love the 200 thread count muslin. It really stretches out the stash! I just love the pretty prints though, so I keep using them on the back. :)

On the last 2 quilt backs I have made, I PLANNED & BOUGHT fabric accordingly to piece the backs. It is just one more way to be creative with your quilts and I just love it! No more boring single fabric backs for me!!!
