i don't make crafts, but i might have a craft idea. see what you guys think.

you know those liners for the baby carriers? or car seats? what if they were made in cute fabrics, or terry or corduroy, with matching blankies? for girls or boys? think there's anything there worth running with? the matchy things are endless: mittens, caps, etc. the liners could match diaper bags, etc. good xmas gifts for a new mommy.

    Great spaces you have!!

    Well.....update....
    I did rather poorly.
NONE, ok....8 mice sold. That was it! I was shocked!!
Only 4 table runners sold. It was horrid!!
NONE of my embroidered things went but one table runner.
Most of my books sold, that was my biggest item.
I did better last year in 4 hours than I did this year in 6.

So, this is my LAST fair here. Don't know if I'll do one in the states or not.

Terri: Sorry to here after all your trouble that your sale didn't go well, your items are absolutely gorgeous so you can only deduce that the locals just don't appreciate handmade items!!

I bet when you get back to your homeland they will all be snapped up!! :D :D :D

I love to see everyone's crafy things, they all look so lovely on the stalls, wish I could have been there to see them in person, nothing like that here!!

Sorry you did not do too well Terri. I know around here people are saying that the fairs are picking up from last year, so maybe by the time you get back to the states things will be back to normal for the fairs.

    wow Terri- that's surprising.

I'm still working on things today, I guess if they don't sell I will have lots of handmade gifts for friends. :)

I did sell the 4 stockings yesterday- the new owner was very excited to get them. I'm going to make 8 more this week to sell. We'll see how they go.

    I just couldn't understand.
These people were paying tons of money for plastic and styrofoam things made in Taiwan and that would fall apart by next year, but wouldn't pay 1/2 of that for what I had.
Saw on one table, there was a table runner. Same size as mine. Priced at $30...ugly as heck too! They sold out of them. Mine, priced at $12 and $15, nope, not even a nibble on them. I just don't understand. Guess people will spend their money on shoddy stuff and not on quality...........

Terri, maybe that is the clue, you were TOO cheap, and their small minds, don't understand you are offering a genuine bargain, maybe they only associate 'quality' by what they pay for stuff....just a thought!!
