    Default Simple Selvage Mug Rug

I enjoyed going through my selvages to make this mug rug. First I placed the selvages in the order I liked. Next, I fused the selvages in place using fusible batting. I cut a square of fabric for the backing and fused it in place. I trimmed the ends of the selvages and backing off to make the mug rug square.

The fun part was quilting the layers together using my decorative stitches. Last thing to do was trimming the edges with a curvy rotary blade. Sometimes I bind the mug rugs, but I like the look of the wavy edges, too.

So cool I haven't tried one of those yet but probably have enough selvages to try, good job.

OOH, very creative! Is it for me? it has my name on it (Nancy) .
Does the batting extend beyond the red seam line?

Very nicely done. I like the way you used your decorative stitches.
