Any secrets to success for keeping the fabric placement looking somewhat balanced?
How did it work if you used fabrics all of one colour family?
Or maybe does it need the multi-colour to give the weave effect?
Thank you for your help and inspiration!

I made this pattern a few years ago and had a terrible time matching my seams. I finally deconstructed the block and pieced it instead of slashing it. Even then, I was not happy with how the seams met when putting two blocks together. I finally sashed and cornerstoned them and set them on point. The result was very busy but the recipient loves it.

For those that asked, I used half each of 4 different sets of balipops and since each set had 2 of each color/print it, I got a decent variation of colors and shades. I did the best I could for balancing the colors and values but it is nearly impossible. You could vary light and dark with each round and end up with light and dark and light. I do think it would look great with a one color so long as you had a wide variety of those colors.
Thank you for your kind words, it is a fun and easy quilt!

I printed this pattern off when Becky, from Quilted Twins, showed hers a couple of years ago, but haven't done anything with it. Yours is incentive to get that pattern out and use it.
Love how yours turned out.
