Sister's Garden mini
I am the baby sister of four, who i love more now than ever! It's amazing as you get older you appreciate things so much more.
My sister closest to me in age and feelings was diagnosed one year ago with kidney cancer. Well this April 16th she will be cancer free for one year! She recently posted a picture on facebook of five flowering pots and mentioned the one year anniversary. i thought then that would be a perfect little mini to make for her birthday on April 4th and in celebration of cancer free. So i started but only put three little pots with a single flower in each.
Then a week ago she posted another picture of many different flowers with the caption, Sisters are like different flowers from the same garden. So that was another reason to continue on my mini. BUT only one problem, i had three flowers and no more room for a fourth one for the 4th sister. ugh....
Back in high school I was often called "sunshine" and to this day my sister's still call me that every once in a while, so perfect! I would add a sunshine to the mini. Perfect!
Then when I was quilting it, my disappearing ink didn't disappear and left a purple blur! I tried everything to get it and just left a distressed spot that most would not notice but I did! So i went thru my buttons and found the perfect thing and the final touch. A little "gardening angel"! That will be pur mom who would have celebrated her birthday April 4th but has been our 'guardian angel' for many years. I think this is the perfect thing for her to cheer up her spirits as she just found out today she may have to have another surgery for a hernia complication from the cancer surgery. the orange ribbon is for kidney cancer
Thanks for looking and listening!

Oh Lisa,
What a beautiful and thoughtful gift for your sister. Your thread work is too wonderful. Maybe someday I will try that. Does it take a lot of practice? Your Salisbury neighbor, Kitsy
