This tradition will mean so much to you for your lifetime. One of my sisters was my sewing buddy. We weren't able to get together often because we lived indifferent states and my job didn't give me much leeway. About 5 years ago, she developed Alzeimers. I would take my machine to her home when I visited, and she would hand me the strips (she couldn't name colors anymore). "We" finished a quilt and I gave it to her, and named it "Time with Sue". Her verbal skills have deteriorated, but she still gets excited when I take her to a fabric shop. The last time I took her to one, she started telling me about a time that we went and picked fabrics for a quilt.
You are building some fantastic memories; hold them dear. My love to you all.

That is so nice, I lost one of my sisters this last Feb. to lung cancer. My other sister and I get together once a month to sew and visit. Enjoy your sisters while you still have the chance, I think it is wonderful and you sewing projects are fantastic!
