    Thanks all for the kind words. In response to a couple of questions: The ties are about 3 to 5 inches apart, not in any set pattern or distance. And several have commented that the quilt doesn't look wonky. Quite a few of the strips are slightly different widths and I trimmed some the blocks just slightly off square. Not a lot but gives it a little of a primitive feel. I love making log cabins, so much freedom to make mistakes and build them in. LOL
