Thanks, copycat. I used a thin but dense polyester batting-like material I found at a thrift store. I think it was made from soda bottles. Not sure what its original purpose was but it worked for me and it was inexpensive! I wouldn't use it in a quilt. It was kind of stiff, not as soft and thin as the Dream Green batting I've seen.

I think the stiffness of your batting worked well for you in this wall hanging to keep it from sagging at the corners. I will keep that point in mind for my wall hanging. Happy Quilting and may you continue to find great thrift store fabrics like your winter scene one.
