Sneak peek of quilting with high contrast thread
This is what I am working on. Lots of ruler work and high contrast thread.

Was really waffling on doing those peonies in the fan but remembered Karen McTavish's advice of "do the hardest thing you can and you won't be disappointed". She was right! I did black lines in the background to maintain density of the quilting but keep the fan's slats and flower design prominent.

I also used a stencil motif. The quilt is somewhat asymmetrical in design so I designed the quilting that way too.

The diamond motifs are repeated throughout and the fans and stencil are repeated in opposing corners at the bottom. All the ruler work is very time consuming so this will be on my rack for a while.
