    They remind me of kitcheny things from my childhood ('50s). I think I remember cannisters, toaster covers, etc.

    Yes, I see them as very retro. I have a tablecloth that was my mother's that matches this collection. I can visualize them in table-toppers, placemats and related items. I love the look because it reminds me of my childhood kitchen.
