    Neither. I copied the puppy face from the border fabric, then free-hand drew some bones, paw prints, etc. (didn't upload photos of those), made templates which I traced onto the quilt with a washout pencil, then did the FMQ. I can do free-form spirals and curly-q's till the cows come home, but most figures and lettering I have to actually draw on the quilt top first.

    Wonderful quilt! I love the blues and browns, and the fabrics are so sweet. I especially love your quilting. Very creative and cute.

    Cute, cute, cute! Perfect for a little boy or grandson! I've used that border fabric for some NICU hospital gowns.

    I like it a lot. It's really pretty and I also like the color of the thread that you used for the quilting as well as the quilting!
