Have been following your progress. Went back and reviewed your previous posts. I think all 3 blocks are Gorgious but I hope you don't mind another perspective. The center medallion, finishing at 24", stands by itself. The crown of thorns, I think, is too busy and takes away from the center medallion. I like your 3rd block and in looking at it, if you used just the third block, the dark blue would make a pretty border pattern around the center medallion. Does Carol Doak have any small stars (which would mimic the star in the center medallion) which could be used in place of the pinwheel...or else use the pinwheel but in darker blue colors. You do beautiful work. Hope you don't mind my input.

Maureen-ALL input is appreciated! This is a work in progress....the design will change many times, I am sure!
The center star was originally a very small block, and I like your idea of incorporating that in the borders...hmmmmm....will play some more! I just have to be careful that I don't run out of fabric!

I started mine in 2005 shortly after the magazine came out, finished in 2008 when I went to a three night retreat and worked on nothing else! I like your block center and color choices. You will have a lovely quilt. Please show it again when you are finished.

Karen-that is gorgeous! Almost makes me want to do an entire quilt instead of using the blocks as a medallion "border".....almost, but not quite! . That is a LOT of piecing small squares! But your quilt is stunning. Thank you for posting the picture!
