Thank you for sharing this with us. We often need a reminder that even when we think we are doing without, there are always others worse off than we are, and we can still afford to give and share. When the heart is willing, the hands find a way!!!

Thanks everyone for the kind comments. I do get great fun out of seeing people so grateful. Because I know the needs are great, I enjoy giving. It isn't even hard. Many here have had so little that to make them happy doesn't take much.

And the ladies need pretty things. I experienced it when I first got here. Many live in pretty stark and ugly circumstances. I wanted to cheer up their daily lives a little bit.

Justfylingin Thank you for sharing what your doing. (brought tears) I understand poor. You have an amazing gift and your using it to reach out to others. And Dakotamaid your so very right. The idea of a quilt is for warmth. I tack my out with yarn and those who receive them still love them.

May God bless you for what you do and thanks for sharing with us the culture there, we "Americans" need a good dose of perspective everyday! (Myself included). We sometimes tend to take things so for granted and get irrigated at the smallest of things.

Your story is a perfect reminder of a generous way to be a thanks GIVER instead of a thanks KEEPER at this time of the year. You are providing hope when so many feel hopeless.
The quilts provide physical warmth; sharing Christ provides spiritual warmth. Blessings to you!
BTW, I am Polish & Croatian - still have distant family members in Poland & Bribier, (Croatia) Yugoslavia - hope to one day visit those areas w/ other family members.

You certainly opened my eyes with your generosity. I got to thinking about all the people in my area that could use a nice warm quilt and started feeling guilty I didn't start quilting earlier. Been quilting for my own extended family and I could use one myself. Since I believe that charity begins "at home," I now feel I have direction in my life - to reach a time I am able to help more people. It feels good to look to the future and plan a better day for as many people as possible. God Bless You.

What a wonderful idea. You are so generous and I know each one that received a quilt or quilts will use them with pleasure remembering the kind person they came from. I know the will enjoy having them for warmth and comfort. Thanks for being a kindhearted and generous person. Blessings to you. The pic. are worth a thousand words, and show they all appreciated the quilts so much.
