Oh thank you for that info. I will track down where it is in Spain. Hopefully it will be nearby in Malaga the nearest city.[/quote]

If there's not an Embassy, surely there will be a Consulate in a city the size of Malaga. (Wish I were there with you!)

I went directly and googled it and there is one in Madrid. Thats 7 hours car journey or we could post it which would cut down costs. I will now google Consulates. You are being really helpful thank you Alondra. Have you been to Spain ???

There is a Consulate but its in Gran Canaria which is an Island just off the coast, so thats not any good. Did find another in Barcelona. Shame we didnīt think of this before because we all went to Barcelona in October. Now I canīt remember when the Tsunami hit. Probably after October.

Yes, I studied one summer at the Univ of Madrid, then visited friends in Ciudad Real and Sevilla and Barcelona. Loved every minute of it. Check online to see if they have an Attache in Malaga, or a Japanese Trade Mission, or maybe you could email them in Madrid and tell them about the quilts. They may be able to arrange to let you ship under their privileged rates, or maybe even send someone to get them. Wouldn't hurt to try. Seven hours is a bit far! If it were in Cataluņa, it would be fun to stop at all the little towns along the way, but it isn't. Alas. Jamás hay que darse por vencida!

Okay will try all your tips out.

I am actually passing this on to our Group leader as she will be doing most of this, but all this info is so helpful.

Thanks so much for sharing your pictures. These are so interesting and the work is lovely. Your friend from England will surely treasure her good-bye quilt for years to come.

I am sure she will. We (the group) are all going to have a lovely meal together next tuesday. I think there will be a few tears. She goes back to England at the end of May.
