Some one asked me to make a quilt for MONEY...

I look forward to seeing your quilting on this lovely top - I wouldn't know how to charge someone for a quilt - I've had folks ask me if I'd do it, but when I've explained the cost materials alone ( Batting $, Backing $, Thread ? Quilt top fabrics $ Labor ?$), they see it's not inexpensive, and I then tell them my hobby is just plain crazy expensive.... What am I thinking!!!

Really nice design and color choice. It is sure to be a hit with the recipient. I do think you should have had a price for your labor established (if you wanted to be paid for your time) before you began. Determining a rate now is tricky because some of us are much slower or much faster than others so now all time can be charged the same. I hope it does not become a sticking point in a friendship. I did professional sewing (drapery) for lots of years so I do have a basis for my comments.
