It is good to hear positive stories about tied quilts.

Personally, I love the look and feel of these, high loft polyester batting quilts. Since I am not that accomplished at top quilting stippling or other designs, and find that tying gets the look I'm trying to get, I'm glad to hear that it will withstand the test of time.

For the flat quilt look, I do like the cotton batting (80-20), and can handle the stitch in the ditch or cross-hatch top stitching. Someday, when I'm retired and all my other interests are covered, I'll practice, practice, practice on the fancy top stitch designs.

It's a toss up between Mothers and Grandmas. They are WONDERFUL!!
I just love hand quilting. I hope someday to get to where I can do something like this. You should be so proud of yourself.

    Hey Quiltncrazy,

NorthernDebs creations will take me a long while to achieve, but
    they set my goals!!

Yes, we met over Emma's Pooh cross-stitched quilt. When your grandaughter saw 4-yr old Emma on my sign in she wondered if
they would ever meet. That was way toooo cute!

The newest grandaughter, Colleen, 2 yrs old, was my inspiration
for the pinwheel quilt. Thanks for the kind words.

We should start a string about inspiration.

The child in my avatar is an Emma also. Today when I showed her my "cowgirl" fabric, she asked, "What're are you gonna make for me?" I had picked up four different pieces the last time I was at the LQS. She just assumes they are for her, bc she just loves horses.
