LOL, I fooled you! It's not a one piece back. I just used the same fabric for the backs of the blocks and all the sashings and borders. If you look closely you can see some of the border fabric has the diamonds running sideways, while the main part of the quilt has them oriented up and down. Look up Kassaundra's tutorial and you'll see how it's done. It's easier than you think.

Wonderful quilt. I can't imagine your son, Luke, not loving this special quilt. I think it is so wonderful when people see new uses and beauty in items that others cast aside. Your quilt is one of those wonderful, re-purposed items.
