It is not ugly by any stretch of the imagination. And once it is all together you will be amazed at how much you really like it. I know cause I felt the same way about one my friend and I did. We cut 2 inch strips of all of our fabrics we had and made triangles then sewed them together, it did not look like much at first but once it was all together it was awesome.

My first experiment with a crumb block ended up like yours, so it can't be all bad, right??? :D

Then I moved on to slightly off-kiltered placemat size scrap concoctions. Quite funny really. Next I'll try strips and see how that works.

I'm along with everyone else, they look adorable. Can't wait to see more, sew don't stop, OK?

    Sara -

I think those blocks look great. I like the color gradation idea that Sharon mentioned; you'll have to do several layouts and post pictures before you sew them all together.

I know many of us think of quilts as planned blocks, but many of my grandmother's quilts were strip quilts/string quilts that she made from scraps left over from sewing clothes. Those quilts were just as beautiful, warm, and lovingly crafted as the ones with perfect points and coordinated color schemes.

If someone gave me a quilt made from these blocks, I would be very thankful and treasure the gift that they had put so much time into creating.

I love the blocks you have created. Just think, they are total one offs! I think these colourful quilts have real "soul" and if someone made one for me I would be very proud to display it. Keep crumbing!

I think they are pretty and once you are done with the blocks and put them together, you will have a beautiful quilt.

You're opening lines cracked me up!! I need to make one of these soon (oh the scraps!)--so I have to wait for a friend to make me mad?

I think it'll look like art work when all together. :D

PS--My 19 year old daughter peeked and said "I LIKE them!!"
