These are lovely. How big are they? I can't find that information on the pattern.

Thanks for your kind comments, everyone.

If you are interested in making one, there are a few tips I would give you. The skirt finishes at about 43" in diameter, including the ruffles. The body of the skirt is less than 40" finished, so you don't need as much backing fabric as the pattern calls for. All you need is a piece WOF x 40", or about 1-1/8 yards. If you want to cut the ruffle back to six WOF instead of the eight called for, you need only 1-1/2 yards. (The brighter green ruffle is made with six.) As I said earlier, if you cut carefully, considering the width of the leftover wedge scraps, you can just get two sets of wedges and make two skirts. The directions didn't mention how big to make the center circle for the tree trunk, but I used a 3-1/2" diameter template to mark and cut mine. The actual hole will then be larger depending on your seam allowance. (I marked the circle, stitched outside of the markings about 1/2" and then cut on the marking.) The directions were very specific in some places and pretty vague in others. It was really quite simple to make using the strip piecing technique. The ruffle was the worst part, but after I learned the trick of zigzagging over string or crochet yarn and then gathering, it went much better.

Have fun making the skirt. Oh, and if you don't want it reversible, you can use muslin for the backing.
