In another thread I read a post about the split 9-patch. I've been making them for the last 3 days (along with other projects). Anyway, I found a couple of web sites that may be of interest. One would be great for using up scraps and the other uses very little yardage and can be done in less than two hours.

This one took only 1 1/2 hours and will be donated to charity (if they'll have it). I made it for a quilting test/practice thing.

This one is doubled and no borders yet. It's for my son who is Fire/EMT

I still need to add borders and it doesn't have a home yet.

The teletubbies remind me of the year I made tubby costumes for Halloween for my 17 year old daughter and her best friend. They were cute, and I used the leftovers to make lap robes for a local nursing home. Thanks for the memory jog. :-)

Thanks Ladies for your comments. Since I made the original post, I have finished yet another pieced top. I can't believe how fast this thing comes together! When I cut, I stack 'n whack, I strip-piece as much as possible, and chain-piece this entire project.

I think this design is perfect for newbies as well as seasoned quilters and wanted to share.

I can't post a pic of #4 because hubby has gone to bed. I take pics with my digital camera and he puts 'em on his computer and emails them to me. CraZy, huh? Maybe tomorrow sometime. Again, thanks for the responses. :)

Thanks again for the responses. I hope as others try this method, they will share pics.

Here's a lot of little samples of the scrappy look.

    Happy Quilting!

    :-)
