My mother and I got together recently and started sewing. We thought we were just making one quilt top but we made more blocks than what we needed for the size we wanted to make. This was just a project for us to do to spend time together. We went through our collective stash - mom went to the store for more fabric - and made a spool quilt. BTW, the leftover blocks and a few more we made to go with them are currently being sewn into another top, put together the same way as this one except the colors are different. Hope this inspires someone else!

Nice. I love spending time with my mom in the sewing room. I always ask her opinion in the projects I am working on. It is so nice to have another view.

What a great mother/daughter project. It is really pretty.
I am unable to get my mother interested. She says she just doesn't have the patience. Too bad because she has a great eye for color.

Very nice. I, too, made one of these patterns and ended up with too many blocks (is there ever such a thing). I made two quilts and gave them to two friends. The pattern is great for scraps, both light and dark. Good job.
