Spring fever is in full gear and I've been organizing more and more in my sewing room. Actually, all of this is for a reason (other than the fact that clutter drives me insane(r)). I'm going to be getting a longarm in the coming weeks, so need to get things cleaned up, organized, and make room for it. :-D

So here's the latest cleaning/organizing frenzy I've been on. I put up more pegboard by my sewing station to try to organize it a bit better. I really like it like this now. The fabric basket there that I made holds all the notions and stuff instead of them just laying all over the place.

The second picture is a broader view into the sewing room. Right now, my desk is on the right just out of view of the camera (you can see a rag quilt I have draped over my desk chair). That desk area is going to be moved out and that's where the longarm will be going.

The last picture is a sitting area with all my books and magazines on shelves behind it so I can just sit and pull books to look through. I sit there a lot, LOL. :) And I think my obsession with collecting quilting books is second only to my obsession with collecting fabric.

I did some work out in the garage to make room to move some of the basement "stuff" out there, so eventually there will be enough room for the longarm. Looking forward to it! I like being organized, I can't function otherwise.

So, has Spring cleaning hit you yet? :)

Whoa! What a great sewing room. Doesn't it feel good to get all organized? Congrats on getting a Longarm soon.

Oh, I like those lateral files underneath the counter top. What do you keep in there?

I have cabinets under a counter, but they are deep and I have to get on my knees to pull anything out of them.

    Very nice!

Right now I use them to hold household records (bank statements, etc.), but am going to relocate that so that I can use them to store fun (quilting) stuff. :)
