    the "star" is all one fabric. It has a 12 1/2" repeat. Stack n Whack is a book by Bethany Reynolds. I bought it USED at Amazon or Half.com The only hard part was cutting the diamonds out of the 3" strips. The book has patterns for 4,6, 8 and up to 16 fabric layers. (this star is 8 diamond shapes) You then sew the background pieces on and it really helps to have the book.

    Thank you for the info, will look for the book, really looks like a quilt i would like to try, i do have fabric i think would look good in that pattern too.
