    This is a very short explanation. Fabric is cut into a certain length & width. Several lengths are then stacked together, matching the "repeats". A large square is then cut and from that square 8 wedges are cut. You then pick up one set of wedges and begin sewing them together with the plain pieces. You may be able to find a tutorial on this or Beth Reynolds has books on it. I would suggest her first book. I hope this at least gives you an idea of how the different designs are achieved and has not been too confusing. If I ever make another one I'll have to get the instructions out and start from scratch.
