Froggley, your quilt is beautiful. I'm no expert on anything pertaining to quilting. I learn mostly from experience. I made a few blocks for a One block wonder and was having the same problem. Here's what I did. I found the repeats and marked them on the selvedge, I then took a ruler and cut the first piece, I then took the fabric, before cutting, and layed it on top of the first piece and I picked out several distinct places and took a straight pin with a flat top and stuck it through the top fabric and found the same spot on the first piece and stuck the pin in the exact same spot on it. I then cut the second piece and went on to layering the next piece in the same manner until I had the right amount of pieces I needed in the stack. When you get the stack smoothed out and all pieces matching, you cut your strips and on to cutting your individual pieces. If you get them stacked right, you won't have a problem with them. I'm not too good at explaining myself but hope you can figure this out and it helps you. I made the 4 patch posie this way and it was really easy with only the 4 pieces to stack. If you have the flower or butterfly pins with the flat head, they are great to pin this with. They lay flat and you can pin closer together.

When I line my fabric up for an OBW, I pin vertically as instructions say along one side..... then I turn sideways and pin vertically there also.....shake it, lay it down, check the opposite edges. Adjust..... use flower pins all over.. then cut being careful to remove the pins if they're in the way. My most challenging fabric was a border print. I think you quilt is stunning!
