    Default Staggered Flying Geese placemats

My friend and I each bought these placemats as a kit at Quilt Canada in June 2014. In May 2015 we got together (she lives in Calgary, I live in Ontario) and we pieced our kits.
I got mine quilted a little while ago.
The poppy fabric is just beautiful. The placemats went together fairly well. We decided to add the piping as an accent - might leave it off next time as it hides the points of the geese on that side - then again, may hide a few missing "feathers" on the tips too???

Love that poppy fabric. You did a great job on those placemats. The staggered flying geese sets the poppies off.

I couldn't have said it better. Great pattern to use with larger floral fabrics.
