    Smile "Star Bursts"

I have been wanting to post a picture of the beautiful quilt my friend Dianne Nordyke made from a pattern called Ribbon Stars Expanding by Maila Whalen. She had to modify it to fit her queen bed so it is 98" X 98" and she calls it Star Bursts. Dianne was looking for a challenging pattern and her words are "I met my match" as this was a difficult pattern and she spent 100's of hours on this quilt. I wish you could see the quilting as she did a masterful job creating quilting templates from the design. Thanks for looking.

Wow! That's a beauty! Love how black makes the color pop! What a lot of satisfying work, I'm sure!

I just googled this pattern to try and see it better or at least a close up. I happened across a page where the designer said she threw the blocks in the garbage because she thought they were "unsewable" but gave them one more try. I can just imagine what a challenge this must have been for your friend.
