Stunning quilts! I have a Lone star top that I inherited from my great-grandma, it is hand pieced, made the old way with the diamond templates...it seems it is off in the center, that there are too many diamonds, so it will not lay flat, not even close...I have tried to fix it, but am making more of a mess, and my lqs really did not have any suggestions for me either. So, I just put it up. I have bought a pattern to try and make one myself, using the strip piecing method...I sure hope I can make one that will turn out half as nice as yours....
    Regards,
    Kif

Your quilts are gorgeous. I've never done that pattern, it intimidates me, so I am in awe that you make multiples at one time!

There is one on here already for a fast star, it is also on my blog. I will be adding a lone star tutorial soon.

Strip piecing is highly over rated in my opinion. I never use it except with 1 1/2" strips for little tiny things. There is too much room for error. Do you have a picture? I am half tempted to have you send it to me to sew the center for you. Hand piecing on the bias could have thrown it so out of whack as to make it nearly impossible to fix though. Sometimes what looks horrible can be fixed by using a high loft batting. I now use dream wool and if there is a problem I can add a layer in the problem spot-problem solved and the batting is so wonderful you can not tell a layer has been added.
