    Thank you so much for all the wonderful comments. As for a pattern, I don't have one specifically. A lady on the board posted a quilt like this with blacks, white and red and I graphed out the pattern in my head using graph paper.

    The center square is 2.5 and the logs are 1.5.......the "geese" are made of 2.5 inch squares.
    After sewing on the first four logs, take two 2.5 inch red squares and sew them to the logs on the diagonal and then trim away excess at 1/4 mark. Then fold back and iron. Add four more logs and then 2 2.5 inch squares etc.

    It is alot of steps but so worth it for the end result.
