    Default Starships and Space Stations

For grandson.... off at the long armer's ...
This one was a challenge ... started in 2022 ... fabrics collected since 2005 because I always knew there would be a space themed quilt.

This one was made with several panels and leftover blocks from the other grandson's quilt. I cut the biggest blocks and then bordered and trimmed to 20" square. Throw up on design wall and add smaller blocks around... pack away because nothing was working. Repeat several times and pack away. Laid the big blocks on my bed and invited grandson to put smaller blocks with each big block. Clip those together and pack away. Finally in January, get serious, and working in sections, border and add more blocks to make 30" wide sections. Place two sections on design wall and add blocks or borders or spacers to get 80" wide. Then add whatever necessary to get the length needed for a double size quilt.
Admire work. Took probably 2 weeks total time over 6 weeks. A lot of thinking.

Also have enough fabric for a generous lap quilt to be gifted or donated. Anything left - and there is lots - will be offered up as a "Space themed lot".

Oh...that came out marvelous. Any space junkie will adore it and even I, who haven't seen a space movie since the old Dr. Spock, love the bright colors. You did any amazing job and GS will love it.

Great quilt. Love the story of how it was completed with help of your grandson. Way to go.

You made it work! It is so interesting to look at. I know he will be glad to get it.

If you want to donate, as you said, our group is working towards 30 quilts finished by June for this year. Giving quilts to The Royal Family Kids Camp. The kids get to keep their quilt when camp is over. Just thought I would suggest but you may already have a place.
