Here is Chain Setting Block #10. Only 5 more to make after I make the last 3 Star blocks.

This quilt is looking really good. Here is a picture of all the blocks so far that I have done. It is suppose to be laid out 5 x 6 blocks. I have 5 x 4 completed and then 2 other stars. 3 stars and 5 setting blocks left to make.

All of the blocks so far. Isn't it cool? 6-8-10

Yes, it is very cool. I love it. Can't wait to see how you are going to final edge the blocks.
    1) congratulations on the fabric choices
    2) congratulations on having the varied fabrics
    3) congratulations for having organizational skills
    4) congratulations for having 'stick with it'

idea for your book - - are you gathering ideas of how to put the pattern into production? For example, you are currently making one star block (or more) and then the setting blocks, but all is being done one block at a time.
Have you plans to turn the pattern into x-amount of four patches, x-amount of HST ... know what I mean?
I am at a disadvantage right now, since I am typing and can't see the picture  but, it will make the piecing more concise, even though there has to be color planning no matter which way you go.
Don't mind me! I am so used to production work, I try to translate everything into making 100 parts at a time, versus a hundred blocks one at a time ;) <wave>

Thank you very much! I haven't decided what I'm doing for the border yet. As for #2, having the varied fabric, I love fabric. Whenever I see something that I really like, I try to buy a yard of it. I know that I love scrappy quilts, so 1 yard is enough of most fabrics. That way I get lots of different fabrics in my stash.

Yes, omak. I picked out the colors I wanted for the star blocks, then I cut all the pieces for the stars and what I'd need for the setting blocks, while I had the fabrics out. Then I made all of the star blocks, and laid them out where I wanted them. Next, I pulled the coordinating colors and made the setting blocks to go with them.

On the first couple of stars I made, I cut enough for 4 sides of a setting block. Then I changed and only cut enough for 3 sides of a lot of them, as that was all there would be. Then for the fourth side, I just used the strips that I had already cut and cut the pieces for the fourth side. (Something that would go with the other colors and not be the same color in the setting block.)
    Does that make sense?

I'm getting ready to pick colors for the last 3 stars and I'll take pictures of what I'm doing.

I have now laid out all the pieces I have cut already for the setting blocks. Now, I'll decide what colors I need more of and that aren't already on a bordering row.
