start with a couple of charm packs
#1
Last year I got some charm packs online - I think on ebay - that were stripes and plaids. Got 6 packs - this quilt used 2. The fabric in this quilt came from just about everywhere you can easily get fabric.
Binding/backing: a David textile from Walmart - on sale last year for $1/yd.
THe outer border - yardage from Hobby Lobby - but bought for another quilt so from my stashlette.
Inner border - local quilt shop - but on sale for their red/white/blue sale. See if you can see that the tone on tone is little bare feet prints.
This was fun to make. I saw one like it on the board somewhere and also learned on here to offset the seams - so some rows start with half a charm.

I had some backing fabric that was blue with a small floral print that would have looked really cute. I didn't use it so the quilt could be gifted to either a guy or a gal. Then when I was matching thread for this backing the only thread that really matched was .... pink! So ... still don't know if this quilt has a gender or not.
