I know it's silly but I have feared triangles since I started quilting a year ago. They confuse me and that bias edge is a nightmare. I tried making this basket block using two HST's at the bottom but really didn't like the look of the extra seam. It just looked cluttered. So I bit the bullet and tried making it with triangles. A lot of starch helps with the bias edge and even though lining up the triangles for sewing still confuses me, it didn't throw me off too bad. I'm tickled with my first block and looking forward to making the rest of them (17 more plus doing the flower applique in the center white area of each). I have officially conquered triangles! :D

My pretty little stack of fabric waiting to become baskets

    Your first block looks great!
Remember to enjoy the process and don't fret if it isn't all perfection!

Looks great! Except for paper-piecing, I have not tried triangles. One of these days (sigh).
