Dresdens are fun to do.......either color planned or just scrappy. I've made a few. I like the pointed ends, but rounded ends using EB technique is doable too. I never thought to epp...why? Unless those blades are 2" tall.....then yes!

Good Luck! I am sure you will do fine. I did an english paper piece dresden plate with repo 30's. It took me 6 years to finish but loved the finished product.

And watch closely how she gets so many stitches in an inch.

I have made several handmade quilts. I love to do that. It is easy for you to take the blocks anywhere and work on them when you have the time. I have made a Grandmother's Flower Garden by hand. Enjoy! It will be worth it.

I will hand piece and hand quilt this Dresden in order to frame it as a single block.
    Wish me luck please.
This will be my first completely handmade project, which will mean I will have to learn how to appliqué also!!!!!
Once you have a Dresden that will lay flat, you can either use a little fusable iron on tape on the points, or Elmer's glue to hold the Dresden to the background. Both methods have worked for me but the Elmer's is quicker for me, since I have figured out how to dry it with the iron and some paper towels to protect everything. If you use Elmer's it will probably show through until you wash it, so don't panic, and do not use Elmer's on a quilt that will not be washed before gifting or using.
