I need to do this. I try, but not hard enough I think. hopefully I'll have the time once the weather changes and I'm not outside so much. Keep up the good work.

Not bad! Press firmly down while moving the quilt to gain more control. If you stop along the way, needle down, of course, but when you restart, slightly (very slightly...not bunching up) push the quilt in the direction you want it to go...this helps eliminate those little "hitches" in the stitching.

I free hand all my quilts I took lessons but prefer to free hand as I can go much faster and add whatever I want on it, like names dates or just follow the design of the pattern
