    Beautiful. Too bad the pattern isn't available in books or magazine. Had never seen using silverware tray for keeping cut pieces neat and orderly

    Wow, that is awesome. Looks like lots of cutting and piecing, but is worth it by the outcome.

    Lovely pattern and colors. Now why didn't I think of cutlery trays to organize? Probably because I'm not organized. HaHa!

    I would have never thought to use the silverware tray for this!! What a great idea and thank you so much for posting the picture......am off to the Dollar Store again. I am in constant amazement as to how much I learn from this site and sincerely appreciate all of you!

    Hi Robyn, the opposite sides of the cabin have different width strips which create the curved look with only straight seams. IN the border with the twists, it's the wedge shapes that create the curve - like a wave around the seahorses I thought! I love the idea of these illusions, plus easier sewing for greater effect! :-D

    And I have to give the great Judy Martin, Log Cabin guru, credit for the tray idea.Mine came from Ikea and were 50 pence each - I think that's about 70 cents, certainly less than a dollar. Another advantage is if I get bored with this and put it away to work on something else (always possible with me!), I can pick it up again later and know exactly where I was up to.
