I've quilted using transparent thread on both top & bottom.
No problems at all.

What a cute quilt! I would use pink in the bobbin for the back.

I have seen people do a small wiggle on the seam line. It could be a design thing making different wiggles on different seams. Katier 825 is right though if you decide to use transparent, the polyester is nice.
