    Love your string blocks. Our Project Linus group makes string quilts using bright colors and novelty fabrics for kids. They are so much fun. With strips of novelty fabric, it becomes an "I Spy" quilt. Most of the quilts are sewn onto muslin squares--they start with a bigger square (such as 10 inches), then cut it down to the size they want (such as 9 inches). It is fun to have a bag of strips in a paper bag and just pick one strip, sew it, pick another, etc. You can use narrow strips, 2 1/2" strips or whatever you have. Very liberating.
