Lovely quilt and kitty! I use Easy Pattern or Pattern Ease for my string quilts. Lightweight, inexpensive and you don't remove it like papers. If you try it, you won't go back to muslin or at least I didn't:-)

Great job on the blue string quilt. Your sashing & cornerstones were a great idea and help to make this quilt so successful. Your cat knows.a good thing when it sees it!

rvsfan… I pulled strings from a tote and tried to keep it random both in color tone and fabric print. Of course when you have used a 42" strip once or twice it's best to move it to a "shorter" strip pile. Mine were 1 1/2 inch strips. This only made a dent in my blue strips and wish I would have had more so the quilt could have been 6 x 6 rows. But Sammy Jo loves it so it must be o.k....LOL Have fun making yours!

Beautiful Linda. I have some "all color" strip blocks and think I will do the sashing in between them as you
have really like the look that way.
