    are the HST muslin...white and tea stained....or is it a colored solid?

    Mine is a colored solid, but a good quality unbleached or tea-stained muslin would work. Just be sure there is plenty of contrast between the white and the beige. I made a quilt before where the difference was too subtle--you lose a lot of the effect: https://www.quiltingboard.com/blogs/...ks-b13239.html

    As others have said, the addition half-squares is really unique and I'll keep it in mind. Already I'm wondering if the half-squares can be laid out into friendship stars and how that would look. I get so many ideas from this board!

    Fantastic quilt and you certainly are creative to make the backing with scraps too!! Wonderful quilt and looks like you even used scraps to bind it with. Love it.
