    Also from one hand quilter to another this is simply exquisite. Did you get the inspiration from the book "The Essential Quilter" by any chance? It reminds me a lot of a quilt in this book. This is a great reference book for hand quilters BTW.

    Yes, you are right! Two of the patterns I've used (the feather in the golden strip and the cable in the brown one) are shown in that book on a navy and white strippy - but for the colors I was inspired by the red and golden one.
    Barbara Chainey's book is the best I know regarding hand quilting.

    As with all of your quilts, I'm in awe! My hand quilting leaves a lot to be desired next to yours! I know it's not a contest but it gives me something to work for. What a beautiful quilt!

    I'm a hand quilter but I've never seen anything like your quilt. How long did it take to do the quilting. I don't think I would live long enough to do that much. It's absolutely gorgeous and I hope it's a keeper!!
