This is my attic window so far. I've just placed each block down in a random order but I'm thinking that it needs a little punch to it. What are your thoughts on adding a sashing around each block? The second close up shows that each fairy panel has a touch of colour. In this case it is a soft fuscia although the photo doesn't show this quite well enough. Do you think a soft fuscia sashing might brighten this up? My grand daughter's room is pale yellow and her new curtains have soft olive green and some flecks of fuscia. Thoughts? And if a sashing is suggested, how do I add a sashing in attic window? Thanks.

Do you think I could add the fuscia colour in my binding and/or backing? My first thought was to leave it alone but I still want to add some colour somewhere. Thoughts?

    Sashing? It is already sashed.
Love the quilt, it is gorgeous. All it needs is a border.
It dosnt need brightning up its perfect as is.

Leave it as is, just like Rose Marie says.
Put the color binding on it that you want and it will be fine.
You can always use a printed fabric for the backing to give it more "punch", but I just love it the way it is!

Ok, I'm hearing that most of you want me to leave it as is. That's ok with me too. (I didn't realize that the yellow and green fabric is considered the sashing. Thanks for that.)
Now my next question is, what kind of border should I put around the entire quilt? Should I use more of either the yellow? or green? I have to add something on the outer edge of the quilt or it will not be big enough for her bed. More thoughts, kind friends?

Love the colors, maybe put the soft fuscia for the border.

I have to agree with everyone else it is beautiful as is, very soft and the colors are so soothing. It sounds like it would look lovely in her room with the colors you have chosen. For a border I would opt for a piano key border. Here you may be able to use a subdued fuscia that matches the fairy panels. I would make the piano key with strips of the yellow and olive maybe 1" finished and a narrower strip, perhaps 1/2" finished of a soft fuscia in between the main part of the quilt and the piano key border. You could then duplicate the fuscia in the binding. Play with it a bit before sewing it to figure out if you want it or not. My worry would be that your eye would be drawn to this new color more then you want it to be. Sometimes less is more if you know what I mean. Adding another color may throw it off. I would go hunting for a soft floral that compliments the fairy panels and maybe that would have the bit of fuscia you are looking for. This is where the ladies at your LQS could help a lot.

Please show us another picture when you get done.
