after looking at the pictures I took at the quilt show in Florida and comparing them to the picture posted, I think the one I saw must have been made by another quilter using some of these ideas, because mine has one with Sue getting stung at a bee hive and bees are flying all around Sue. I must be warped also, because it is the only quilt I can remember at the show.

Thanks so much for posting that. I'd forgotten what some of the blocks represented.
Brought big smiles to my face
Too funny..I laughed when I saw the quilt, but to see the names of each block it gives it a renewed humor. Thanks for posting that. It's great!!
ROFL, I think "Sunbonnet Soup" "Sunbonnet Sioux" and "Sunbonnet Sue-icide" are the punniest. But seeing the skylab, threemile island, lost in space, Jaws III and Suestown, up close with labels really helped to make this quilt more than just amusing, it really is like a time-capsule for that era.

I would love to know who began the Sun Bonnet Sue block in the first place. Like the very first Sue. I'm thinking the person didn't show the face because it would have been difficult to construct. But then it creates a mysterious air about the poor girl.

Oh, yes! Run away! Run away. Or Sue setting at the piano playing and the lid comes down on the keys and chops off her fingers! Remember those?
