It is a lovely quilt and I am happy for you getting it back. When my first husband and I got married my grandmother made us a quilt for us for our wedding gift. But after being married for 13 years he decided to leave me and he took the quilt. My grandmother is no longer alive. I am hoping maybe he will pass it down to my daughter.

Oh, I'm so glad that you got your quilt back. I would use it. Why save it? It will get worn, but that just makes it more special. I have the last sweater my Mom was wearing hanging in my closet. I touch it almost everytime I go into my closet. I just can feel her when I touch her sweater. - Cynthia

What a very nice memory. Just keep in touch with your step father, you'll never regret it.

Why do we always save the good towels for guests, whether anyone ever comes to visit or not????? Don't put it in your hope chest!! If you have wall space, hang it on a wall. If you have a quilt rack, hang it over the rack. Don't save it for someone else to have after your death!!!! Enjoy it and remember your mom NOW!!!!!

I agree with all you said, to often someone passes on not enjoying but always saving for later.

Don't be afraid to use it! I have the quilt that was on my Mom's bed. She died Thanksgiving Day 2007 & I brought the quilt home with me that day. Ever since it has been my "go to" quilt for when I am having "one of those days" and need to snuggle & think of the feel of my Momma's loving arms around me. When I'm not using it I have it hanging on a quilt rack in my guest bedroom.

Congratulations on the quilt's safe return! Sorry for your loss(es). Glad the quilt didn't end up in the wrong hands.
