I wanted to try a sweatshirt jacket so here is my first attempt using selvages. I found the sweatshirt on sale for $3 so bought it. Learned from doing this to take the advice of others and buy a size larger. I really should have had a XL instead of the L. It turned out quite well, except that there is no stretch in the fabric after sewing on the selvages so it is too snug of a fit for me. But a teenage granddaughter might really like it. I love all the wild colors though. If I do another, I will do a tutorial as I go along. So, keep saving your selvages. I cut them 1.25 inches (1 1/4) as this seems to be just the right size.
I proofread everything but the title! It wasn't really a swearshirt jacket!

Every time I see a jacket made by a quilter, I think of an old song by Dolly Parton, "Coat of many colors". It was one of the very few county songs my grannie owned.(southern babtist says it all). Thanks for sharing your lovely jacket and bringing back some fond memories of my grannie!
