Here is the infamous New Year's Day Mystery quilt finally FINISHED! Oh, yes! I said it! Finished and I am so glad. Over 1200 yards of thread to quilt this, I lost track of bobbins and only 330" of binding! I have learned so much!!! But it's still a mystery quilt to me!

I also found a great web site that some of you already know about, quilter's tv. Lorraine Stangness has an episode on Magical Machine Quilting. She shows free motion quilting on your home machine and has some wonderful ideas. Try this site, scroll down to magical machine quilting.

She also has a book out that sounds like one I need to get! Anyway, here's my latest efforts to learn the art of machine quilting on my Bernina!

    Thank you, Ladies.

Yes, Chele, I quilted and quilted and then quilted some more. I'd change from free motion to walking foot and back and then realize I'd missed a section and have to go back and change feet again!

I'd call my sister and whine. I'd send out emails to anyone that would read them and whine! My husband was even saying he'd be glad when I was through with this quilt! I gave it to him since he was so supportive!

This quilt plain scared me. I finally just told myself to consider it a practice quilt and so, that's what I did. I just practiced! Tried a little bit of everything! Sure wish I'd seen that Stangness video before I was finished with this thing! Oh, well. I pulled out that big ole pink quilt top and am going to practice on it now! I'm on a roll! I hope!
