    Default Table mat

I used a large wedge ruler for the tree, added a few border and sitd quilting. Thought I would use this as a candle or table mat. It's hard to tell in this pic, but the off-white has tiny metalic hearts in it, the tree has metalic holly and one of the borders has metalic gold also......trying out some ideas for Christmas.

That is really cute and seems quite simple. One of the things that bothers me about small mats for candles or whatever is that the cute center always get covered up. I think I would make my trees around the border so they could be seen. But I love yours, would make a cute wallhanging too.

I thought about that too, about it being covered up, maybe I'll just hang it on my small quilt hanger. The pattern is from MSQC, they made it into a long table runner with trees the entire length, they alternated up and down, made that one too, just don't have it finished yet.

Very cute! You could also put hanging tabs on it for a wallhanging or on your front door for the holiday season.

I was just thinking of how to make a tree just like this. Thanks for your post. I have a great example to follow now. Too cute!
